導語: 整個空間是一個精神性的建筑群落,象征品牌(設計)的集合,共分四個部分,分別代表經典(伊姆斯夫婦的經典設計)、科技(人體工學椅)、健康(家庭辦公)、藝術(生活藝廊),達到完美的產品展示及純粹的空間體驗。經典之家、人體工學椅區和家庭辦公區構成了Herman Miller廣州零售展廳,生活藝廊則展示了奕居國際代理的其它品牌集合。

設計概述 | Overview

整個空間是一個精神性的建筑群落,象征品牌(設計)的集合,共分四個部分,分別代表經典(伊姆斯夫婦的經典設計)、科技(人體工學椅)、健康(家庭辦公)、藝術(生活藝廊),達到完美的產品展示及純粹的空間體驗。經典之家、人體工學椅區和家庭辦公區構成了Herman Miller廣州零售展廳,生活藝廊則展示了奕居國際代理的其它品牌集合。

The entire space is a spiritual architectural community that integrates brands and designs. It consists of 4 areas centering on distinctive themes including classic design, technology, health and art, which provides perfect products display and a pure spatial experience.?“House of Classic Design”, “Ergonomic Chair Zone” and “Home Office” constitute Herman Miller’s showroom in Guangzhou, while “Living Gallery” presents a collection of products from other brands which Yi’s International has signed agency agreement with.

01. 經典之家

House of Classic Design

“細節不只是細節。有了細節,才有產品。”

作為20 世紀最有影響力的偉大設計師,伊姆斯夫婦(Charles?Eames和Ray Eames)與Herman Miller的合作關系起源于二十世紀四十年代末,其享譽全球的Eames躺椅,被紐約現代藝術博物館永久珍藏。

As the most influential and greatest designers in the 20th century,?Charles and Ray Eames’?cooperation with Herman Miller started from the late 1940s. The world-renowned Eames Lounge Chair they created is a part of permanent collection of New York’s Museum of Modern Art.

位居中心的小木屋,初衷是向歷經 60 多年洗禮的設計經典致敬,以容納Eames夫婦最具代表性的作品。創造一個精神性的空間,就像柯布西耶晚年在馬丁角的小房子一樣。

The small timber cabin at the middle area is meant to accommodate the most representative works of the designer couple, and pay a tribute to classic designs that have been lasting for more than 6 decades. It’s a spiritual space, just like Le Corbusier’ vacation cabin in Cap Martin.

水泥雕塑是小木屋的靈魂。它本是一根無意義的柱子,設計師使用斯卡帕核心的“割除”概念把它割除一番,使之成為一個兼具使用功能和象征意味的雕塑,成為空間的精神集中體。 “割除”的意義不在“去掉”,反而是讓它無中生有,割除其“不利”,使之變成“有利”。小木屋的燈光避免使用射燈,用柔和的光源畫出油畫一樣濃重的色調,給人歷史的沉淀感。

The sole of the space lies in the cement sculpture, which was originally a meaningless column. Through adopting Carol ?Scarpa’s core “Cutting” concept, the designers turned the column into a sculpture that combines functions and symbolic meaning and a spiritual center in the space. “Cutting” doesn’t mean “cutting off completely”, but creating something out of nothing, and cutting out the “the disadvantageous” whilst transforming it into “the favorable”. The design team chose to utilize soft light sources rather than spotlights in the cabin, with a view to producing an oil-painting-like tone and delivering a sense of age.

雕塑之于小木屋,是一個微縮版的建筑,但尺度已經夠小了嗎?當我們再次深入,仔細感受雕塑細部,發現這是又一個維度的世界。正像空間設計的過程一樣,需要深入到精神內部, 才能將空間的精神再現。

Set in the wooden hut, the sculpture is a miniature architecture. Is it minimal in scale? When looking more deeply and feeling its details, we can discover a world of another dimension. Just like the spatial design process, it needs to go very deep to reproduce and convey the spirit of space.

藝術品選擇考慮:

1.眼睛的意向和對面的女性身體形成一種關聯,使空間更具人性。2.喬治·尼爾森和 Eames夫婦可以說一起形塑了美國現代家俱的樣貌。兩位杰出的藝術大師作品在充滿歷史感的地方再現使空間變得更厚重。

Considerations for artwork selection:
1.The painting sketching a female body can form some connection with the sight line directly, making the space more humanistic.
2.George Nelson and Charles & Ray Eames are arguably masters who shaped the picture of modern furniture in America. Their works add a sense of age and history to the space.

02.人體工學椅區

Ergonomic Chair Zone

上世紀之初成立于美國的赫曼米勒(Herman Miller)可被稱作是當今世界最知名的辦公家具企業,它旗下的許多產品,如 Embody、Aeron都成為經典。

Established in America in the earth 20th century, Herman Miller can be deemed as the most prestigious office furniture brand in the world. Many of its products, such as Embody and Aeron, have become classics.

理性中的“logos”精神,它是統攝一切的精神,致力于把“一切”規范為統一的“一”,我們熟知的科學精神正是從它而來。黑色實驗室里只有理性的天光,在他之下是理性的現實形式:頂級的人體工程學椅。

“Logos” is the rational spirit dominating everything, which strives to unify “all” into “one”. It is the origin of scientific spirit. In the black lab, there is the “light” of reason, under which are ergonomic chairs — the physical forms of rationality.

只有在這樣純粹的空間里,人才不會被打擾,而是把感受力都用在對產品科技感的體驗上。展廳人來人往,為了讓體驗者有一個更寧靜的空間,墻面材料用的是吸音毛氈。

Only in such a pure space, people are able to concentrate on experiencing the scientific and technological sense of the products, undisturbed by others. Considering that many people come and go in the showroom, the designers utilized sound-absorbing felt as wall covering, so as to provide the visitors with a more tranquil environment.

Aeron is praised as “the most ergonomic and comfortable office chair ever”.

03.家庭辦公區

空間布置:考慮視覺的連續性,在同一視線上安排不同的組合,形成空間之間的對話。

Interior arrangement: In view of visual continuity, the designers arranged different combinations at the same sight line, which generates the dialogue between spaces.

喬治·尼爾森(George Nelson, 1907-1986年)被認為是美國最具影響力的人物之一,他是建筑師、家俱設計師和產品設計師,曾經擔任Herman Miller家俱公司的藝術總監長達20年,可以說和Eames夫婦一起形塑了美國現代家俱的樣貌。

As an architect and furniture & product designer, George Nelson (1907-1986) is regarded as one of the most prominent figures in the US. He had been the Director of Design in Herman Miller for 20 years. So to speak, George Nelson shaped the picture of modern furniture in America together with Charles and Ray Eames.

在建筑群落中,這是實體之外,不同的建筑形式在更廣的空間中本質上是和諧的,因為藝術品是人的本質的體現(正如我們所認為的,在人性或人所從事的各個領域中,古今、東西方必定存在普遍的共同性一樣)。

Within the architectural community, this area transcends physical forms. In essence, different architectural forms are harmonious in a wider space, because artworks are embodiments of human nature (As we believe, in all fields related to humanity or human activities, there must be something in common between the East and West, the past and present).

人的身體是靈魂的圖景?– 維特根斯坦
“The human body is the best picture of the human soul.” –?Wittgenstein(1889~1951)

藝術品選擇考慮:跟家具最親近的是人的身體,藝術家用簡潔的線條勾勒出的人體跟家具有天然的親和力,能很好地將觀眾的體驗代入空間中。

Consideration for artwork selection:?What gets closest to furniture is human body. The paintings of human bodies sketched with simple lines have a natural affinity with the furniture, which can better integrate the visitors’ experience into the space.

在三個空間的交匯處,空間元素中最純粹的形:正方體和球體組成一個大體量的雕塑,跟空間呼應,將整個空間的氣息打通。球體同時是太陽的意向,置于方體的一角,使行動中的人在不同空間點體驗到它不同的“形態”和“強度”:或大或小、或飽滿或殘缺。它在最高處,你坐下靜觀時,它自然顯現;你一行動,它便消失不見,有如我們對現實太陽的體驗。

At the junction area of the three spaces, two geometric forms, a cube and a sphere compose a sculpture with a large volume. It echoes the space, and injects a flexible atmosphere into it.?The sphere, the imaginary of the sun, is placed on a corner of the cube, so that the moving people can feel its distinctive “forms” and “strength” at different positions, either large or small, full or incomplete. When people sit down to watch it, it appears naturally at the top, but while they move, it will disappear, just like our experience of the sun.

04.生活藝廊

Living Gallery

待在家里是一種走向迷人戶外空間的新方式。- Ligne Roset

白色實體是一個連續的生活空間,由內而外依次是臥室/餐廳/接待廳/健身房,不同功能的各空間通過厚墻過渡,給人強烈的形式感。生活本應該是這樣,正式地對待每一件事情。 數學上的重復性產生一種節奏感會把人引向無限。

The white entity is a continuous living space. From inside out, there is the bedroom, dining room, living room and gym, all of which are partitioned by thick walls, delivering a strong sense of formality. That’s exactly how life is supposed to be — taking everything seriously. Repeatability in mathematics can create a sense of rhythm, which leads people to infinity.

東西方文化中的“陰”和“陽”(東方)、“邏各斯”和“努斯”(西方)無不是在相互“否定”中成就彼此,且密不可分。在設計形式上,“內”和“外”、“方”和“圓”、“冷”和“暖”、“單一” 和“無限”等在“沖突”中相互助長,展現出一種內在張力和秩序感。

“Yin” and “Yang” in the Oriental culture, and “Logos” and “Nous” in Western philosophy, all complement each other through mutual negation. Likewise, in terms of the spatial design, “interior” and “exterior”, “square” and “round”, “cold” and “warm”, as well as “unitary” and “infinite”, also promote each other in “conflicts”, showing a sense of tension and order.
